CLAN gathering as McCalls takes Pride in Tartan Week celebrations
Highlandwear specialists McCalls is entering the Tartan Week spirit on Saturday (July 30) to raise money for CLAN.
Staff at the Aberdeen branch will wear the company’s Pride of Scotland tartan and handout small tartan bows on the same day as the Tartan Day parade on Union Street.
Iain Hawthorne, managing director of McCalls, said: “We’re doing our bit to celebrate Scotland’s most famous icon – tartan. Staff will be wearing their kilts and dresses with pride and collecting for a worthy cause.
“The Tartan Day Parade is sure to be a great success and an opportunity to celebrate all things Scottish.”
All donations collected for the tartan bows on Saturday will go to Aberdeen-based cancer support charity CLAN.
McCalls, established in 1887, also has stores in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Broughty Ferry, Elgin and Tillicoultry, where its kilt-making factory is based.
The company also has McCalls Jewellers next to its Bridge Street headquarters in Aberdeen.
